This device is very effective in slicing out a pineapple. It's easy to use, and lets you quickly finish what can sometimes be a "time consuming and messy" task.
I read from other reviews about wastage. In my experience, there isn't much wastage. And even if there is, you should consider buying this because it's so cheap, and it comes handy at times when we're just not in the mood to cut-out a pineapple.
I'd recommend you buy the 3-piece model. You'll mostly use the medium piece (which is what you get in the single-piece model). Some pineapples are bigger (haven't come across one small enough to use the third piece), and having a 3-piece will minimize wastage.

The handle can not be locked tightly with the body when it screws in the pineapple. Additionally, the tube can not be took out smoothly since the core is so tight squeezed in it. There are must be some defects of the design. Returned it after using twice. Order a steel one again. Hopefully it will perform better.Customer Review: Multi size pineapple corer

This product is well made, easy to use and works great. One suggestion not included with the directions is to cut the pineaplle in half first. This makes using the corer muck easier on the hands and cuts much faster.Customer Review: Awesome time saver!!!

I bought this for my wife, a huge pineapple fan, and it works awesome! I used to cut all the pineapples and it would be very time consuming, cutting the outside off and cutting the core out. With this tool, you cut the top off, place the tool on top of the pineapple, and twist while pushing down. The entire pineapple is cut in less than a minute (no exageration)! The first pineapple I did was over-ripe and soft and this tool still cut it nicely. If you like pineapple, BUY THIS TOOL!
